MORECAMBE’S heavyweight boxing sensation Tyson Fury will take on New Yorker Vinny Maddalone in his next fight.
Irish Heavyweight champion Fury will take on the 38-year-old journeyman, who has won 35 of his 43 fights, at the Hand Arena, Clevedon, Somerset on Saturday, July 7.
Maddalone, who has defeats to Evander Holyfield and Jean Marc Mormeck on his record, will be looking to inflict a first defeat on Fury, who has won all of his 18 fights, 13 of his victories coming by way of knockout.
Fury, currently at a training camp in Essen, Belgium said: “He’s a good opponent, a real tough guy, who leaves nothing in the changing room, he certainly comes to fight!
“Training has gone well and I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m looking forward to some good rounds and after I beat him maybe we can go out and get something to eat.”
The fight will be live on Channel 5.
