The first result of the day was from 12-year-old Larissa Hannam competing in the U15 category which consisted of a 100m swim and then a combined run/shoot using laser equipment with an 800m run to finish.

A personal best in the swim put Larissa in eighth place going into the combined event 16 seconds behind the leader with an excellent shoot and run moving her up to fourth overall.

In the U19 category Georgia Hannam, 17, was third after the 200m swim eight seconds behind the leader going into the combined event.

A strong shoot and run was then enough to see Georgia crowned national champion for the second consecutive year with the best combined time.

Paul Hodgson competed in the senior men’s race with the fastest swim time seeing him head into the combined event in the lead. There was no let up in the run with Paul ensuring he became the club’s second national champion of the day.

Emma Whittaker was next up competing in the U17 age group. She was placed 12th after the 200m swim with her strong shoot and run seeing her finish third overall.
