One of the best tennis players ever to come from the area, Ken Riley, has remembered his start in the sport by again donating £100 towards the development of Junior Tennis at Lancaster Tennis Club on Lune Road.
In his youth Ken was an outstanding player, qualifying for Junior Wimbledon, and throughout his adult life he has remained an active player of both tennis and table tennis.
His donation will help fund the Open Junior Singles Tournament that runs from Monday, May 26, to Friday, May 30.
All young players based in tennis clubs in the local area are welcome to take part in the tournament for boys singles only in 14 and under, 12 and under and 10 and under categories.
Entry is £7 per event with forms available from Pat Clelland, Lancaster Tennis Club Junior Organiser, on 078706 42267 or 01524 311737 or email email@example.com.
Closing date is May 20.
