Janko, aged six, played at the Widnes Tennis Academy Whit boy’s 8U tennis competition and came second. Janko, who was the youngest player at the competition, delivered an outstanding performance in his semi-final by coming back from 4-9 down, scoring seven consecutive points to win the match 11-9.

Both brothers have tennis coaching at Heversham and Milnthorpe Tennis Club under the Cumbria County coach Jon Griffin, who, during his coaching career, has produced many high performance players and county and regional champions.

Tomáš and Janko, who attend the Cathedral Catholic Primary School in Lancaster, also practice in between coaching sessions at their local tennis courts in Lancaster at Highfield on Derwent Road.
