Dave Chisnall was handed only his third Betway Premier League defeat of the season in Aberdeen last night.

The Morecambe star went down 7-3 to six-time Premier League winner Phil Taylor.

Taylor took an early 3-1 lead before Chisnall cut the gap to 4-3.

The 34-year-old was unable to level as Taylor pulled clear to take the points in week 11 of the competition.

Chisnall has been on a good run of form in recent weeks, beating the likes of Gary Anderson, James Wade and Taylor himself.

He currently sits in second place just a point behind Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.

The Stoke star admitted he knew he faced a tough challenge to get the win.

He said: “I got stuck in because I knew Dave was going to play well and I knew what I was up against, but I’m fighting for survival.”

The Betway Premier League continues at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff next Thursday, when Chisnall takes on Raymond van Barneveld.
