The 34-year-old was unable to level as Taylor pulled clear to take the points in week 11 of the competition.

Chisnall has been on a good run of form in recent weeks, beating the likes of Gary Anderson, James Wade and Taylor himself.

He currently sits in second place just a point behind Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.

The Stoke star admitted he knew he faced a tough challenge to get the win.

The Betway Premier League continues at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff next Thursday, when Chisnall takes on Raymond van Barneveld.
