Table Tennis: Excellent Ellis sees off Westworth in final

To celebrate Table Tennis England's open day the local league held an '˜open to all' tournament which was well attended by junior players from all parts of the Lancaster and Morecambe area.

The top group produced the new number one junior when Toby Ellis won his last match against Matthew Westworth, 12-10, in the fourth game.

Westworth finished second with Abhinav Sinha and Elliott Bywater in third and fourth places.

The competition for the next places resulted in Adam Dennison fifth overall, Bethany Ellis, Amir Khan and Joseph Dennison sixth, seventh and eighth.

In the remaining group matches Lexie Ball, Thomas Barrett and Max Roarty finished in a three way tie and could not be separated, even on games count back.

Oliver Wood and Robert Lambert each won one set to complete the group event.
