In another close fought battle, Vale 2 emerged victorious away against Lancon 2, taking the fixture 3-2 from the “boys in blue”.

A notable performance came from Joe Hopkinson at No3. He took a 2-1 lead before being pegged back to 2-2. But the effort in the fourth game drained his opponent and Joe ran out an easy winner in the fifth game to secure a 3-2 win.

John Harker at No1 had a similarly close battle but lost 3-2 overall in a see-saw contest. He lost the first, won the second, lost the third, won the fourth but the struggle proved too much in the fifth.

Teenager Max Castaldi continued to build his match-winning experience, taking victory 3-1 at No2.

Rupert Douglas-Jones at four saw off his opponent 3-0.
