Heysham Atoms claimed their first win of the season on Saturday, beating Saddlewortth 24-22.
Saddleworth took the lead with an unconverted try but Liam Hall then came onto a short inside pass from Neil Walker to barge his way over the line, with Billy Livingstone converting. He then kicked a penalty to put the Atoms 8-4 up.
Saddleworth were next on the score sheet with a converted try, but Liam Hall barged his way over again to give the Atoms a 14-10 half time lead.
Livingstone slotted over another two penalty kicks early in the second half to extend the lead to 18-10 before the speedy winger from Saddleworth ran the full half of the field to score a converted try.
With 10 minutes remaining Saddleworth scored a converted try but Liam Hall then powered his way over to score his hat-trick and match winning try, with Livingstone slotting over the extras.
