Runners took part in their first C25K race recently.

It is an easy way of getting fitter and healthier, starting by alternating between walking and running small distances, then slowly building up to running five kilometres or 30 minutes at the end of 10 weeks.

The first C25K group held at Lancaster and Morecambe AC has been a great success and culminated last week with the group completing their 5km run, a fantastic achievement for them all. The next C25K programme takes place on Tuesday evenings, starting on Tuesday August 7th at 6.30pm and ending with a dedicated 5km run on October 12.

Anyone interested in taking part can go to the clubhouse on the track at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. People who complete the program at only £1 per session with Louise Goddard will then be able to join Lancaster and Morecambe AC’s steady group to help them progress to 10km. Lancaster and Morecambe AC have started a new race series, Night of the 5km PB.
