It is an easy way of getting fitter and healthier, starting by alternating between walking and running small distances, then slowly building up to running five kilometres or 30 minutes at the end of 10 weeks.

The first C25K group held at Lancaster and Morecambe AC has been a great success and culminated last week with the group completing their 5km run, a fantastic achievement for them all. The next C25K programme takes place on Tuesday evenings, starting on Tuesday August 7th at 6.30pm and ending with a dedicated 5km run on October 12.

Anyone interested in taking part can go to the clubhouse on the track at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. Lancaster and Morecambe AC have started a new race series, Night of the 5km PB.

This event is suitable for runners of all abilities and is a flat course. The next race in the 5km series is on August 31 starting at 7pm.

Entries accepted on the night (cash only), register at Lancaster and Morecambe AC’s clubhouse at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.
