This stunning victory was forged from a near faultless display in the first 40 mins, racking up 30 points in as many minutes as they totally dominated the first part of the action.

A great start from the Atoms saw stand off Stuart Lacey open the scoring with a try . He cut across the face of the Hindley defenders and backed himself scoring in the left-hand corner.

Liam Hall crashed over in typical fashion to make it 8-0 after a Helme kick to the corner and great chase forced the error, giving the ball straight back to the Atoms.

Jack Edmondson saved a certain try tracking back to bravely secure a hack ahead close to his own line. Edmondson then turned to try scorer from try saver finishing off a skilful passing move that went through five pairs of hands before being finished off by the young centre.

A Lacey chip and chase was then collected by the lively Jamie Cottle who fed hooker for the day Dan Helme. He jinked and side stepped his through a couple of defenders for his first try of the season.

Walker, Short and Cottle all ran strongly for the next try which was scored by second row Al Crookall who forced his way over to the right of the posts for another fine score.

The final try of an outstanding first 30 mins came from a cut out pass from Livingstone who found Edmondson in a gap and he had the necessary gas to finish off the move for his second try of the contest.

A shell shocked Hindley finally got some sustained pressure on the Atoms line and they showed their undoubted attacking qualities, scoring two tries in quick succession to make the half-time score 30-12 in the Atoms’ favour.

The Atoms got the scoreboard moving again, breaking out of defence with Ginocchio feeding his winger Jack Lawton with an excellent offload.

The winger pinned his ears back and rounded his opposite number on a pacey 80-yard dash to the line.

Hindley made the mistake of sending the kick off straight into the arms of captain Liam Hall. He set off on a thunderous charge that left bodies scattered all over the turf as he made 30 painful yards.

Winger Michael Forrest got through a gap with some lightning acceleration which took him all the way under the posts.

Hindley hit back with their third try of the game as their two half backs linked up well for a score.

But winger Forrest then got his second of the game picking up a loose pass and sprinting into the left hand corner.

The final try was scored by Hindley when a well placed kick found their winger who scored close to the corner flag.
