Limehurst started strongly and scored first but the young Atoms were not to be outdone and matched Limehurst with strong running from Joshua Denby who went close to scoring his first Heysham Atoms try.

Rebecca Tudhope led the boys with passionate defending and strong running at the line while Ciaron Fell showed outstanding pace and a side-step to die for to open the Heysham Atoms’ scoring.

In the second half Kyle Morris made some determined runs and showed some outstanding potential.

Tyler Wignall also showed determination to overcome injury and played an important role for the team.

Limehurst scored next but Heysham matched them all the way with a powerful run from Kian Davies who charged his way over the line for a try.

Zachary Griffin put in some outstanding defending to stop Limehurst from scoring and Ciaron Fell stepped up to the mark with another outstanding, jinking run which bamboozled both Heysham and Limehurst, but ended up over the line for another Atoms try.

Hayden Davies was running strongly all afternoon and after a great pass from Rebecca he too got over the line for a well-worked Heysham try.

The last word wents to Fell who completed his hat-trick of tries with one of his trademark exciting runs to claim the player of the match award.

New players are welcome to join the team on Wednesdays 5.45pm at Trimpell S&SC.
