Rallying: Class win for Burton and Capstick
Local interest was via Phil Burton/Mal Capstick – the duo returning after a 12-month layoff and using their familiar Millington-engined Mk2 Escort, supported this year by Westgate Tyres/1Media/BDS Fuels & Biomass/KL Brewery/SBG Construction/J.Wright & Sons/JBSigns/Jones Plumbing/Lune Valley Car Sales, and seeded at number 15.
After a rapid but cautious start the Burton Escort was soon to be seen on maximum attack through the stages despite a failing front shock absorber.
