Morecambe’s hottest boxing prospect has revealed he nearly quit the sport due to a lack of sponsorship.

Isaac Lowe may have three knockouts in an unbeaten four-fight record but considered hanging up the gloves before a chat with trainer Bob Howard and his family.

The 19-year-old featherweight said: “It’s really difficult in the run up to fights because I need to train twice a day and I can’t work at the same time.

“Then there’s sparring in Manchester and Liverpool which is really difficult without sponsorship.

“I thought I was going to have to quit before I had a chat with Bob and my family.

“I think I’m only a few fights from a title.

“To be able to give it all the time I want to I just think I need a bit more sponsorship.”

The Westgate Warrior returns to the ring on Steve Wood’s VIP Promotions show in Oldham on October 5.

And the Lancaster Boxing Academy fighter is set to follow it up with a return to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on November 15, the scene of his last fight in April when he stopped Arron Flinn inside 90 seconds.

The show will also feature Bentham light heavyweight Tomi Tatham as he looks for a sixth professional victory.

Anyone interested in sponsoring Isaac is asked to call him on 07799 281071 or Bob on 07951 191717.
