Parry and Woods' stunning stand sets up Torrisholme win

A stunning opening stand between Chris Parry and Daniel Woods helped Torrisholme to a 96-run win over bottom side Fylde in the Palace Shield Premier Division on Saturday.

Parry finished unbeaten on 98 while Woods made 86 as Matt Jackson’s men moved out of the relegation places in style.

After posting 203-2 after being put into bat at Boundary Meadow the visitors were then reduced to 107-8, Jackson leading from the front with 4-26 from his 15 overs.

The Fylde top five all failed to reach double figures with the runs coming down the order.

Garry Hebblethwaite finished unbeaten on 28 while Anthony Churchill made 24 having earlier taken the two Torrisholme wickets to fall.

Graham Lee also chipped in with 2-24 as the hosts were convincing winners.

They next travel to second in the table Vernon Carus on Saturday.
