Youngsters Alice Sands and Connor White excelled themselves with Alice placed in the top five and achieving a personal best in every event she entered.

The nine-year-old finished with two gold, one silver and one bronze medal whilst Connor, 10, won two bronze medals.

Alex Livingstone, 12, put in a special appearance to swim the 400m freestyle for the first time, finishing sixth and coming within two seconds of a regional qualifying time.

Elsewhere 17-year-old Sam Timpany brushed off his racing shorts to give a good account of himself, Toa Smith. 15, swam close to his personal bests in every event and Josh Thompson, 15, qualified for the ‘Skins’ and finished a very close second in a tightly-fought contest, bagging himself some prize money along the way.
