Committees could opt to prioritise a truncated league season or perhaps focus on their limited overs competitions at the expense of other events.

Garstang had been going into the 2020 season hoping to improve on their second-placed finish from the year before, in which they had also won the Northern League T20 title.

“If we do play at the back end of the summer then it’s going to be interesting,” Walling admitted.

“I don’t know what the league is going to do about certain formats, promotion or relegation, so it’s going to be an interesting time for everyone.”
