The Shrimps got off to a flyer against their Northern Premier League Premier Division hosts, opening the scoring inside 25 seconds.

Ben Williams went down the left-hand side with the first attack of the game and his cross was met by Collis, who headed Morecambe in front.

Adam Lakeland’s players went on to control the opening period and doubled their advantage when Collis found the back of the net again on 20 minutes.

He was played through on goal, before he cut back onto his left foot and calmly found the far corner.

The Shrimps dominated the ball and had the better of the chances in a very composed first-half performance.

Morecambe controlled the tempo after the break and looked calm on the ball.

Collis nearly bagged his hat-trick in the 59th minute after beating the offside trap, but his shot went straight at the keeper.

At the other end, Morecambe keeper Myles Boney had experienced a quiet afternoon in goal before being called upon in the 74th minute to keep his clean sheet intact.

Louis White’s strike was heading for the far corner, only for Boney to claw the ball away at the last second.

Bury captain James Neild then came close when his shot from the edge of the area hit the left-hand post.

That was as close as they would come to finding the net, as the Shrimps held out to secure a clean sheet and another pre-season success.
