Warton moved up to second in the Westmorland Cricket League Division One with an eight-wicket win at Milnthorpe on Saturday.
Gareth Finney’s visitors flew out of the traps after winning the toss and inviting their hosts to bat first.
There were early wickets for Graeme Crowther and Jack Brown leaving Milnthorpe on 0-2, with the score still being blank for as long as the sixth over.
Warton held there catches and continued to take wickets as Milnthorpe struggled to pass the hundred mark.
They were eventually dismissed for 118 with the wickets being shared around with Ryan Nelson picking up three.
In reply Alex Thistlthwaite and Ryan Nelson made a solid start and passed 50 before Nelson fell for an excellent 42.
Shortly after Thistlthwaite was out caught and Warton had a slight wobble. They had no need to worry though as Stuart Mayor scored a quick-fire 38 not out to see Warton home on 119-2 as they picked up 12 points.
