Heysham picked up their first win of the season against Bolton-le-Sands on Saturday.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a green but very firm wicket.
Both Reg Cupit (3-31) and Sam Calverley (3-26) carried on their fine form for the hosts with the ball however as Sands were soon reduced to 14-4.
Adam Dixon (26) was cautious and took the score to 48 but after he fell to the in-form Sam McClements (3-6) wickets continued to fall as McClements and Andrew Ideson (1-3) applied the pressure.
A last wicket stand of 55 gave Sands some hope with the hard hitting of J Carter (41) taking the score to a respectable 127.
Heysham’s reply got off to a superb start with the opening pair of Lewis Placket (31) and Ideson (39) putting on 59.
After the latter had departed Cupit soon followed.
T Millet (3-35) was bowling well for Sands and made Placket his third victim.
It brought Calverley (26 not out) and Andy Hill (13 not out) to the crease however and with the scores level the latter hit a six to win and give Heysham all 15 points as they finished on 132-3.
