Alex Thistlethwaite plundered a magnificent 124 not out as Warton came away with a winning draw against Windermere.
The big hundred was the first of Thistlethwaite’s career and the large crowd were treated to one of the best innings seen at Warton for many a year.
Ryan Nelson also scored 51 with Dan Dixon’s 32 and Graeme Crowther’s lusty 24 not out all contributing to an impressive total of 244-3 which allowed skipper Gareth Finney to declare after 44 overs.
In reply, Windermere started dangerously with O Killiner looking to hit over the top but when the reliable Jack Brown bowled him for 26 it was always going to be a struggle.
M Lewthwaite played an impressive innings top scoring with 54 as Warton dropped too many catches at crucial times which hampered their progress with the ball.
In the end Windermere batted slowly and sensibly to see the game out with Jack Brown claiming 3-51 as Warton picked up eight points to Windermere’s one.
