Four Lancaster stars continued their quest for gold with England at the Commonwealth Water Polo Championships on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ciaran James, Glen Robinson and Tom Curwen helped the men make it five wins out of five with convincing wins over first Scotland, 17-4, and then Singapore, 20-1, to move above Malta in their group on goal difference.
England face Malta in their final group game at 3pm on Friday in what will be a dress rehearsal for Saturday’s gold medal match.
The women, featuring Lancaster’s Katie Hesketh, also saw off Scotland on Wednesday, winning 24-2, but then lost the warm up for their gold medal match 9-8 to Canada. The teams will meet again on Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm with the men’s final following at 5pm.
