Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club entered the annual Brian Walsh Charity Water Polo Tournament, which this year was raising money for the Lancaster based college, Beaumont College, which is part of the national charity Scope.
Lancaster took nine players mostly 18 and under to the senior competition, and stormed through the first round, beating local teams Fleetwood 11-0, Radcliffe 6-2 and Southport 12-1.
In the final, Lancaster took on a strong Bridgefield team which featured two ex-Lancaster senior players.
A tight first half saw a 2-2 draw, with Bridgefield scoring another goal in the final seconds of the game to take the victory.
The event raised around £1,800 for the charity, which will go towards technology to support independence for people with disabilities.
The ASA and the British Championships take place at Salt Ayre this weekend.
