St Annes reach reduced target to see off Lancaster

Lancaster were beaten by three weeks at home to St Annes on Saturday in a rain affected game that was reduced to 45 overs per side.

Lancaster were asked to bat first and were bowled out for 105 in 39.1 overs.

Iain Burstow top scored with 30 and Lukman Vahaluwala (4-24) and Mitch Bolus (3-25) were St Annes’ best bowlers St Annes were made to fight for their win and chasing a reduced total due to rain reached their target of 90-7 in 30.5 overs thanks to a stand by Mikey Harling (13no) and wicketkeeper David Watson (10no).

Liam Moffat with 4-42 off 15 and professional Michael Barry 3-31 also off 15 didn’t make it easy for St Annes, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat for Lancaster.
