On Saturday Rushton won the second of four 350 races, finishing second behind the experienced Alan Oversby in the other three.
Finishes of fifth and second in the two 500 races then placed him third overall as he picked up a medal for Saturday’s racing.

He said: “My results this weekend were consistent and I finally got some good solid finishes which is what I needed to try and keep my championship fight going.
“I’m not sure if I have done enough yet to retain my title but nether the less I am looking forward to the next round at Snetterton in October.”
