Title-challengers Lancaster go into the biggest weekend of their season in high spirits and on a fine run of form.
The third-placed Lune Road side travel to Fleetwood, one place below them in the Northern League on the back of a big win against Blackpool last weekend.
And ‘super Saturday’ also sees first host second when Barrow and Leyland face off in a pivotal afternoon of action.
Lancaster captain Ben Simm said: “It’s a big weekend coming up, ‘super Saturday’ as we’re calling it.
“Things should become a lot clearer after the weekend.
“We’re going into it on a good run at the moment, we’ve been on top form.
“We’re 16 points behind but the top two have got to drop points this weekend and we’ve got Barrow still to play.
“There’s everything to play for with seven games left.”
The skipper himself is in great spirits after taking a career-best eight for 24 in the 83-run win over Blackpool at Lune Road.
The off-spinner said: “I was shocked to get figures like that.
“It’s been sinking in and it feels pretty good to be honest because I’d never even taken seven in the Northern League before.
“Everyone’s been contributing recently and to join the party felt great.”
