The Vale of Lune face three important away games, beginning on Saturday at Northwich where a serious challenge waits for them at Moss Farm, a venue where they have yet to register a league win.

Although the Vale defeated Stockport, 53-17, at the beginning of November they can expect a warm reception at Bramhall.

On March 10 the Vale cross the water to take on Douglas on the Isle of Man, the first club to defeat Vale in this season’s campaign.

The availability of players is going to be crucial for the Vale as they endeavour to consolidate their position at the head of the table.

Vale seconds have moved into the semi finals of the BEST Cup following their 29-10 victory against Wilmslow 2.

Andy Garnett, James Curran, Sam Hoare and Toby Holt were the try scores with Ryan Busby converting three and kicking a penalty goal.

They will play Sedgley Park 2 at Powderhouse Lane on March 17.
