CHORLEY came desperately close to victory at Lodge Quarry as the home side finished 161-9 chasing 190 to win, last man Warren Quinn blocking his only ball from Iain Critchley in an exciting finale.
Carnforth’s 64-year-old league legend sub-professional Mel Whittle bowled superbly to take 5-68 off 24 overs as the visitors reached 189.
