The Myerscough College Cricket Academy have set the tone for this summer’s Ashes after whitewashing their Australian counterparts in a tournament in Guernsey.
The week-long tour saw them play three and win three against Melbourne Grammar School.
The event was part of celebrations for Elizabeth College, in Guernsey’s, 450th anniversary.
After a convincing 62-run win against the hosts, the college enjoyed a hat-trick of wins against their counterparts from Down Under.
The first match was a tense affair, with Myerscough coming through by two wickets, the following day saw a more convincing nine-wicket victory before the tournament ended with a T20 finals day.
The college completed their Aussie whitewash with a 26-run victory over Melbourne, before, perhaps fittingly, narrowly losing out to the hosts in the grand final.
