Fresh from lifting the Northern Premier League title Morecambe have secured the services of their star professional for next season.
Sri Lankan international Suraj Randiv was the league’s leading wicket taker with 92 scalps as the Woodhill Lane men won a first championship since 2006.
The off-spinner put pen to paper on a new contract ahead of returning home on Monday handing Josh Dixon’s side a big boost ahead of the 2016 campaign.
Captain Dixon said: “It’s fantastic.
“We’ve been chasing him for a while and to get the contract nailed down now is a massive bonus.
“We’re looking to build on this year it will really help when it comes to bringing in players over the winter.
“It will really help us kick on.”
Randiv’s stunning form, which also saw him score 762 runs, was a key part of Morecambe’s successful season.
Now the only thing standing in the way of a return next year is an international recall with the former World Cup finalist having played 12 tests and 30 one-day internationals for his country.
