LANCASTER Royal Grammar School won two of their three matches when they competed in the Lancashire Schools Rugby Cup Finals at the Vale of Lune RUFC recently.

The U13 team played with great conviction against Arnold School and won with some ease, 46-5.

The U15 team lost narrowly 14-7 to a good Merchant Taylor’s side, their comeback score coming a bit too late to finish the job.

Revenge came with the last game of the afternoon, also against Merchant Taylor’s, when the U16s pulled away late in the second half to win 28-6.

In 2010 LRGS had a hat-trick of victories at the Lancashire Schools Rugby Cup, and was consequently named Lancashire Rugby School of the Year 2010.

This was the second time that the school has won this prestigious award.
