A LANCASTER table tennis player is still a smash hit, even at the grand old age of 82.
Ken Riley (pictured), led the Barbarian team into action at last week’s Coronation Cup, 58 years after playing in the winning Bowerham Lawn Tennis Club team at the time of the Queen’s coronation in 1953. Unfortunately, this time around, Ken couldn’t stop the Barbarians losing 502-465 against the Bulldogs.
Ken, a former tennis coach who has worked with the likes of Virginia Wade and Judy Murray, mother of British number one, Andy Murray, reached the last eight of Junior Wimbledon in his youth.
