CYCLISTS from the Lancaster area recorded good results last weekend in both road racing and time trials.
On Sunday the third round of the CDNW Road Race League took place near Cockermouth.
After the first two events on pan flat roads the Daffodil Road Race, promoted by the Honister 92 club, was on a challenging undulating course with the finish at the top of the main one-and-a-half mile climb that had to be covered on each ten-mile lap.
In the E,1,2,3 category race a break of seven, including local riders Jack Pullar from the VanillaBikes.com team and CyclePremier/Metaltec rider Ashley Finn, went away early and it looked like they would stay away to the finish as their lead stretched to 1:50 over a chasing group and 2:40 on the peleton.
The peleton gained momentum and caught the chasers on the last of seven laps and all but caught the break on the final climb.
