Colne and Nelson took the spoils on Saturday with a 39-5 victory at Carnforth in North Lancs 2.
Ten minutes in and Jack Edmondson went through three challenges to register the game’s first try.
However, it was no surprise when Colne took the lead when their centre ran through for a converted try when Carnforth were down to 14 men with Dan Blenkharn out of action behind the posts.
Early in the second half Colne went into a 15-5 lead when Matty Tindall struck a penalty before Carnforth conceded an unnecessary try when trying to clear their lines.
Tindall then claimed his second try, before Colne’s number 12 also went over, which Tindall converted, to earn his team a bonus point.
Two late tries added gloss to the victory for Colne with a deserved five points taken back to East Lancashire.
