FOLLOWING a solid start Shireshead were 38-0 after nine overs before losing Ray Riley lbw for 15, but soon the score deteriorated to 47-3 after 17 overs, numbers three and four having departed without scoring.
Jack Dodd had a sensible knock of 28 before being trapped lbw, and after two more cheap wickets Shireshead were looking to be struggling to around 120, but ended with 131 thanks to 27 from David Riley and some quick runs at the end from Sam Clarkson (18no) and Ryan Wells (10).
The pick of Bare’s bowlers were Lockwood 3-31 and Bransby 3-17.
In reply Bare made a good start before Peter Dodd took the first wicket in the 7th with the score at 16-1.
A Osmotherly (15) and G Cheetham (21) added 37 before both were out quickly, and with the score at 53-3 Shireshead were feeling back in the game.
But former Shireshead player G Westworth (47no) and J Moller (30no) took the attack to the bowlers knocking off the remaining 78 runs in 12 overs, leaving the visitors to rue four missed catches and a missed stumping.
Shireshead & Forton A 131-9
