More silverware for Morecambe Car Club’s Phil

Morecambe Car Club’s’ Phil Sandham will soon need to extend his home to accommodate the mass of silverware he’s acquiring.

The Bolton-le-Sands co-driver, alongside Nigel Feeney in Nigel’s Subaru Impreza B13, were seeded at number 11 for this past weekend’s annual Legend Fires North West Stages Rally.

The event, co-organised by nine northern car clubs, has special stages in and around the Fylde Coast with hundreds of spectators enjoying one special stage on Fleetwood Promenade.

Attracting rally crews from all over the UK, 109 crews were faced with an event comprising of 27 special stages.

Phil and Nigel finished third behind winners Paul Bird and Andrew Roughead in their Ford Focus WRC 07.

One of 50 crews forced to retire was the Myerscough College entered Nissan Micra, crewed by Morecambe Car Club’s Danny Cowell and Peter Littlefield.
