Batting first the visitors were indebted to some lower order runs from James Cookson, 45, and Jeff Stobbart, 27, as they were bowled out for 142.
The pair added 70 for the ninth wicket to take Torrisholme from 68-8 to 138-9 when Cookson departed having hit six fours and a six in his run-a-ball innings.

Hide AdAdam Bee, 15, Joseph Wills, 14, and captain Matt Jackson, 12, were the only other scores of note as all of the top five failed to reach double figures.
Jordan Beech, 4-65, and Greg Tirrell, 5-25, did the damage for the hosts.
In reply it was Graham Lee who starred for Torrisholme, the left-arm spinner’s 5-25 helping skittle out Thornton Cleveleys for just 82, proving just how vital Cookson and Stobbart’s earlier stand had been.
Daniel Woods also took 3-23 and Jackson 2-32.
Despite the result Torrisholme are still second from bottom on the table on their return to the top tier.
