Lancaster swimming squad put in strong showing in Warrington

A team of 22 swimmers from Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club put in a tremendous all round performance at the Warrington Warriors Winter Gala.

Jasmine Austin won a bronze medal in the 50 fly with a full set of personal bests in seven events.

Heidi Coldwell also won bronze in the 11 yrs 50 breaststroke, while Aidan Duffin collected four bronze and a full set of PBs in his eight races. Malachy Duffin had a great gala with two silvers and bronzes being especially strong in the breaststroke.

Elizabeth Wareing, 10, put in another strong performance with a full set of PBs silver in the 200 breast and bronze in the 200 fly.

Other swimmers to get a full set of PBs were Katie and Emily Wilson, Emma Cartwright, Lucas Heaton, Jessica Loxam , Macy Evans, and Amy Peacock. There were strong swims and multi PBs achieved by Georgia Wilson, Daisy and Rosie Pollit, with Harry Shaw showing good form with many PBs.

Millie Sykes, 16, collected three silver and two bronze medals and excelled in the breaststroke. Marcus Robinson, 14, claimed seven PBs, a gold medal in the 50 back, two silvers and a bronze from seven events. Amy Shaw got bronze in the 15 yr 50 breaststroke with three other PBs, and Olivia Robinson won silver in the 200IM and bronze in the 100 fly.

Charlotte Peacock won bronze in the 200 IM with some PBs and Hannah Eaton, 12, won bronze in the 50 breast together with several PBs.
