Batting first, Lancaster got off to a poor start when Ben Simm (0) was caught by Lachlan Stewart off the bowling of Kuldeep Singh (2-23) to leave the hosts on 2-1.

They were soon reduced to 8-2 when Faizan Khan (7) was caught by Chris Miller off Toby Tyson (1-34), and then 16-3 when Steven Fisher (0) was bowled by
Singh.

Kieran Moffat (4) was run out soon after to make it 22-4 which brought George Marshall to the crease, and between him and Sam Moorby (24) they took the score to 74.

However, Marshall (33) was bowled by Miller (2-33), and captain Iain Perrieman (9) wasn’t far behind when he was bowled by Matthew Park (2-29) to leave Lancaster on 97-6.

Moorby (24) was next to go, he too was bowled by Miller with the score now on 103, and Brendan Hetherington (8) was the last man to fall when he was caught by Miller off the bowling of Park, leaving Lancaster on 159-8 from their 38 overs.

Kendal’s revised target was set at 95 from 20 overs due to the weather, and they reached it with four balls to spare.

Lachlan Stewart (28) and James Park (22) opened for the visitors and they got off to a good start, taking the score to 53 before Park was caught by Steven Fisher off the bowling of spinner Simm (1-30).

Lancaster struck again soon after when Stewart was caught by Moorby off Perrieman’s bowling, and the
Lancaster skipper claimed his second wicket when he removed Ryan Shepherd (9) with the help of Simm to take the score to 69-3.

That was to be the last wicket that the home side would take though, as Ben Phillips (24no) and Terry Hunte (11no) saw Kendal home in the final over, as the visitors finished on 98-3 from 19.2 overs.

Liam Moffat (0-23), Kieran Moffat (0-15) and George Marshall (0-6) all had spells with the ball, but were unable to take any wickets and prevent Kendal from claiming 11 points.
