The seconds won 3-1 at home to Southport Ladies 1s.

Things were level at the break but an improved second half display saw them come out winners with Kelly Kane and Eve Dodd on target. Liz Colclough took the girl of the game honours.

The thirds triumphed by the same score at home to Blackpool Ladies 2s in their opening game.

Lancaster played well in the first half but had to wait until the second period for their opening goal, Emily Verden taking the ball to the backline and crossing it into the D where Brittany Myerscough swept the ball superbly into the back of the net. Blackpool soon equalised against the run of play but a great short-corner routine saw Emily Bamber-Dowthwaite put Lancaster ahead again.

The midfield of Katie Lindsey, Issy Christopherson, Emily Verden, Sophie Winn, Camille Whitty and Myerscough remained strong throughout the game, playing some sublime passes and driving the ball through the Blackpool midfield and defence, creating lots of chances.

Bamber-Dowthwaite converted one of them for her second as they started the new season in style.
