The ever-improving Heysham Atoms under 9s team made it three wins on the trot with a 17-tries -to-11 tries victory against the Bulldogs from Wigan.
With all the Atoms teams winning over this highly-successful weekend, Dan Helme’s 9s took centre stage on Sunday at the Trimpell.
The whole squad is improving at such a rate that, even when a couple of quality players are not avaliable, they can now still produce a winning performance, which has had a huge impact on the confidence of the team.
The Atoms crossed the line 17 times – with scores from Connor Hall (5), Ciaron Fell (2), Tyler Wignall (2), Josiah Helme (1), Hayden Davies (1), Billy Taylor (1) and Harvey Davidson (1).
Rebecca Tudhope also scored her first try and went on to score three more in an outstanding display.
Billy Taylor was voted top tackler during the game, even taking no prisoners when he briefly played for the Bulldogs for five minutes while they lost a player to injury.
Kian Davies made a welcome return, and Cody Large, Josh Denby, Zach Griffin and Kyle Morris are making massive improvements with every game they play.
