Lancaster University pressurised The Atoms line as half time approached and scored wide out on the right to take the half time score to 16-8 to The Atoms.
Dan Helme broke away to post his second try shortly after the restart before strong running from the Uni’s front row was rewarded with their third try close to the ruck.
Kieron Sharples then dived his way over the line for the Atoms before Michael Forrest set off on a 90 yard run up field for an outstanding individual score. Winger Gavin Winder then placed an excellent cross field into the path of hooker Matty Humpage who scored his second of the contest.
Ollie Murray made a clean break only to be felled 10 metres short from the line by a good full back tackle. He regained his feet quickly and from the next play Dan Rodriguez picked his gap and forced his way over to the left of the posts.
