Despite Giant Axe’s proud record of regularly beating bad weather the deluge ensured the Evo-Stik First Division North clash was postponed on the morning of the game.

It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 15.

Phil Brown’s side are next in action when they host Darwen in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy on Tuesday night, a 7.45pm kick-off.

The Dolly Blues then return to league action with a Lancashire derby at Bamber Bridge on Saturday.

Elsewhere the West Lancashire League programme was a near washout with both Slyne-with-Hest and Garstang’s Richardson Cup first round ties called off.

Both sides are in league action this Saturday with Garstang at Euxton Villa and Slyne-with-Hest hosting Thornton Cleveleys.
