West Lancashire football fixtures continue to be hit by bad weather

The West Lancashire Premier Division programme continues to be decimated by the bad weather.

Both Slyne-with-Hest and Garstang have not played since the middle of December after seeing their latest fixtures called off again on Saturday.

Garstang were due to host Euxton Villa while Slyne were set to travel to Vickerstown, but once again heavy rain put pay to any hopes of competitive action getting underway in 2014.

The teams will try again this weekend when Garstang host Fulwood Amateurs, managed by former Lancaster City boss Tony Hesketh, and Slyne welcome Eagley.

In division one of the reserve league, Garstang’s second string did get a game in and drew 2-2 at Coppull United Reserves.

Slyne’s reserves, who play in the second division, saw their clash with Croston Sports Reserves postponed however with a fixture pile-up set to hit several sides.
