Despite a combative opening 30 minutes from the hosts City took the lead when Ben Hudson’s long ball from his own half caught the strong Tyneside wind and bounced over ‘keeper Neal Atkinson and into the net.

The Dollies went on to score four more in the next 15 minutes, with Aaron Taylor scoring two back post taps in and Ryan Winder firing into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.

Lee Dodgson bundled the ball over the line for a fifth on the stroke of half-time to send Lancaster in at the break 5-0 to the good.

The second half was fairly uneventful with Winder’s free-kick hitting the bar the main talking point before Taylor completed his hat-trick with an accurate finish from just inside the box to make it 6-0.

Dodgson got his second in added time with a tap in after Winder hit the post for 7-0.

Lancaster face another North East trip in the next round on Saturday, September 13, against West Allotment Celtic from the Northern League Division One.
