Two new directors at Lancaster City

Lancaster City Football Club have confirmed the addition of two new directors to the club's board.

Dave Evans will be the new Vice Chairman of the club while David Dawson has accepted the role of Commercial Director.

Dave Evans is the Managing Director at Lancaster-based software company Accessplanit and will bring a wealth of business management and operational expertise.

In accepting the role, Dave said: “With my business being based in Lancaster I’m well aware of the club’s tradition and recent success and I am delighted to join forces with the board and supporters.

“I have lots of ideas to move the club forward on the business front and I am really looking forward to helping enhance the great work already underway.

“On the football side, Phil is building an exciting squad for the upcoming season and I can’t wait for the pre-season games to commence, starting with Morecambe on July 14”.

David Dawson has over 15 years of corporate finance and insurance experience and has worked for Blue Chips such as Lloyds Banking Group and AXA.

Most recently, David has worked as an investment consultant as well as creating a one-stop shop for investors wishing to navigate the complex world of financial markets.

David was born in Lancashire and sees great potential in developing the commercial aspects of Lancaster City.

He has started several successful businesses from the ground up and has many strong footballing connections, especially in the North West of England.

In accepting the appointment of Commercial Director, David said: “I am delighted to be involved in the future of this historic and exciting club.

“The team is in place and the infrastructure really has been developed to a stage where we can work together to take this club forward.

“With the support of the City, we will achieve great things”.
