Former England captain David Beckham has announced his retirement from football.
The 38-year-old will call it a day at the end of the season having won a Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
Beckham won 115 caps for his country and won six Premier League titles and a Champions League with Manchester United.
During a glittering career he also played for Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan.
The midfielder famously wowed crowds at Lancaster City’s Giant Axe in July 1997 when a United side that also included a young Gary Neville visited the city for a pre-season friendly.
He also spent a spell on loan at Preston North End in the 1994-1995 season.
