Slyne-with-Hest got the better of Garstang in the West Lancashire Premier Division derby on Saturday with a 3-1 win at Bottomdale Road.
A Callum Moore double and a goal for Tom Entwistle effectively won the game for the hosts before Neil Crossley’s side pulled a goal back late on through Liam Breslin.
After an even opening, wide man Moore broke the deadlock five minutes before the break, firing a crisp shot into the bottom corner.
Dan Curwen produced a fine save to deny Entwistle a goal on the stroke of half-time but the former Lancaster City man wasn’t to be denied for long, Moore teeing him for his goal on 56 minutes.
Leon Gierke, off the bench against his former club, then set up Moore to kill the game off from eight yards before Breslin’s fine chip over Jim Brindle handed Garstang a consolation.
