Slyne-with-Hest played out a six-goal thriller with Burnley United at Bottomdale Road on Saturday, drawing 3-3 in the West Lancashire Premier Division.

Slyne, eighth in the table, were then reduced to 10 men however, Neil Uberschar sent off for two yellow card offences inside five minutes to give the game a whole new complexion.

A Danny Thompson goal on 33 minutes restored Burnley’s advantage before Danny Dixon struck on 57 minutes to bring the game back even at 2-2.

There was still more drama to come with the sides sharing two goals in the final five minutes.

First 10-man Slyne went back in front courtesy of a Mark Murphy goal after 85 minutes and then with just two minutes on the clock Burnley drew level as Thompson scored his second of the afternoon.

Elsehwere, Garstang are through to the final of the Richardson Cup after a 1-0 win over Thornton Cleveleys in their semi-final played at Poulton Town.

Dave Jack’s 27th-minute goal was enough to set up a date with holders Charnock Richard at Lancashire FA headquarters at Leyland on Wednesday, April 27.
