Slyne make mixed start to new season

Slyne-with-Hest have had a mixed start to the new West Lancashire Premier Division season.

Looking to build on a third-placed finish last year Ian Roe’s side started with a 4-0 defeat at Coppull United on Saturday.

Slyne bounced back on Tuesday night however with former Lancaster City and Garstang striker Leon Gierke scoring both goals in a 2-0 win at Crooklands Casuals.

The Bottomdale Road side visit Euxton Villa on Saturday.
